1. QWERTY Keyboard:

Some People are absolutely proud of their typing speed on a typewriter or keyboard. Even for some tasks, having fast and accurate typing skills is an advantage. But did you know that the current layout of QWERTY keyboards was designed to slow down typing speeds? Not surprisingly.

Early versions of typewriters made in the 1870s had some technical issues. The metal arm held and jammed words if keys were pressed fast or if a typewriter pressed adjacent keys simultaneously. To avoid this problem and for good typing, Christopher Latham Sholes designed many keyboard-like designs that solved the problem of typer jamming. 

2. Wikipedia maintained by bots:

Most Internet users are familiar with what Wikipedia is. This is an extensive collection of information obtained from the website available online. This is a great source of knowledge that the online encyclopedia is created and edited by volunteers.

But did you know that thousands of bots (automated programs) currently maintain Wikipedia pages? Today, 2468 boot tasks have been approved to perform maintenance work on more than 52 million pages of English Wikipedia.

Wikipedia bots perform tasks such as creating a new page, correcting spellings, correcting styles, and more. When editing causes a page to crash, bots can return pages to their original version.

Anyone with programming knowledge can easily create bots for Wikipedia. However, these programs need to be approved by the Boot Approval Group before retaining Wikipedia pages.
